My Home Made Birthday Cake from about 2 weeks ago!
These are something I love to make and remind me of lamington drives at the school. For a fundraiser my old primary school used to enlist mothers and their daughters (or unwilling sons he he he!) to help make the Top Taste Sponge Slabs into lamingtons.
The dipping was my favourite. Just lots of warm water with HEAPS of drinking chocolate or cocoa, whatever is on hand and dip the spongecake in! The fresher the better!
Rolling in coconut was also fun and watching them drip dry over a cake rack was fulfilling!
So because my birthday actually fell on the Australia Day Public Holiday, I decided to make these...

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013!! and KEY LIME PIE
My Stephen King Obsession has made headway!
I'm in the middle of reading his best novel so far, in my opinion :
So basically, this brilliant masterpiece is set in an imaginary Key in Florida (USA). "Duma Key" as the novel is titled, does not exist itself, but King makes references to parts of the real existing Florida Keys! I did a little research into the Florida Keys, cause I'm already saving to go to Disneyworld, Florida after buying so much Lego in Disneyland, Las Angeles, I wanna go there!
I found out a very interesting story about subsituting ingredients which I'm bursting to share. Most Aussies already know about Lemon Meringue Pie. One day in the 1800's a lady named Sally living in the Florida Keys during a time where there was no refrigeration as we know it, only ice boxes. She actually made this pie, BUT substitued the lemons, for Key Limes! This is when Key Lime Pie was born!
What in the hecks name are Key Limes???? You say???
Well apparently the Limes we are used to are acutally called Persian Limes (had no idea, I thought a lime was a lime!) but there are Key Limes only to be sourced in the Florida Keys. They are smaller than Persian Limes and more tart.
Further online research told me that to get an authentic tasting Key Lime Pie, you need to bake a Lemon Meringue Pie but substitute HALF the lemons for our regular Limes and you will get the desired tartness.
Thats one of my resolutions for this year... To make an Aussie Key Lime Pie...
And to finish reading Duma Key....

PHOTO A DAY CHALLENGE FOR SEPTEMBER #FMSphotoaday
So I am asked to take one photo every day for the month of September. Not only cause September has only 30 days, but cause September means so much to me, I will take part with the help of my eldest child who can take awesome iPhone pics!!
For September 1st its YOU, NOW. and over there on the left is me yesterday. At a picnic on Father's Day telling my eldest please don't take that as Mummy hasn't had time for make up, you know what? I'm glad she did. It captures me completely!!
Above is the "KING DAD" Toblerone I am going to add as a picture of FATHER for Day 2. That was the Father of all chocolates. Toblerone is soo beautiful!
And for today, Day 3 It's FAR AWAY and I took a photo of a neighbour who is moving far away, this is their removal van through my window, and that van is going far away!
Well I am now up to date, and I'm glad I saw this, now I will have lots of fun trying to think of something till next time!

TOP OF THE MORNING TO YAH!
I love the Irish. Really, I do. I love their optimism and their bubbly personas. Most of all I love GREEN. Such a refreshing colour. Such a beautiful idea. St Patrick's Day or St Paddie's Day as I love saying is on Saturday, so I made some Shamrock Cookies. Well I thought I did make the true Shamrock, but a lovely Irish lady told me that a Shamrock has 3 leaves, and the shape I made was infact a four leaf clover! So because of the myth that all Irish people are lucky, and so are Shamrocks, I say these are Shamrock cookies! I just found a recipe for gingerbread and omitted the ginger as I don't like it....

Hello to The "WEIGHT" Seventies
Firstly I'd like to apologise for the speech impediment pun in the title of this blog post BUT I think I can cause this diet thing is working for me!
WOOOHOOOO so pleased with myself and my dear friend is coming over today with Eagle Boys Pizza and I told her "NOPE" I'm happy to watch her eat but exercising twice a day in the rain is motivation enough not to eat naughty food today, maybe next week. Over the weekend, stay tuned for a marvellous White Chocolate Mudcake recipe I am testing, and see if I can say NOOOOO!!!
